This page explains how you can request the deletion of your account and associated data from ResumeXpert.

📧 How to Request Account Deletion

To request account deletion, please send an email to:

Since ResumeXpert primarily uses Device IDs for identification, please include your Device ID (found in Settings > About) and Your unique referral code (e.g., XXXX-XXXX) displayed in the Invite & Earn screen in the email body. Please specify that you are requesting permanent account deletion.

🎟️ Referral Code & Premium Status

Important: Your unique referral code (e.g., XXXX-XXXX) displayed in the Invite & Earn screen will be permanently deactivated upon deletion. Any pending referral rewards, premium extensions, or "Ad-Free" status linked to your account or your referral code will be immediately forfeited and cannot be recovered.

✅ Data That Will Be Deleted

Upon successful verification and processing of your request, the following information will be permanently removed from our servers:

Your Device ID and associated account identifiers.
Your unique referral code and referral history (total invites).
Your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token and push notification settings.
Your premium "Ad-Free" expiry status and promo code redemption history.
Any cloud-synced app preferences or settings.

️ Data That May Be Retained

To preserve the integrity of our referral system and analytics, certain anonymized records may be retained:

If other users redeemed your referral code, the count of successful invites may remain in our system for analytics, but your personal Device ID will be permanently stripped from these records.
Anonymized app usage and crash analytics data (via Firebase) that cannot be linked back to your specific device.

⏱️ Processing Time

Account deletion requests are typically processed within 7 business days after identity verification. You will receive an email confirmation once the process is complete.

❗ Important Information

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
You will lose access to your Premium/Ad-Free status and all associated rewards.
Your unique referral code will become invalid, and friends will no longer be able to use it to earn rewards.
Local data (resumes saved on your physical device via Hive) is not controlled by us. To delete local data, please uninstall the app or clear the app data from your Android device settings.

💡 Before Requesting Deletion

We recommend taking the following actions before submitting a deletion request:

Export and save any important resumes as PDF files to your device.
Note down any active promo codes or referral rewards you wish to use before they are deleted.
Understand that any remaining days on your "Ad-Free" premium subscription will be lost.
